The secret to perfect skin

Among the multitude of anti-aging skin-care products in the market, one ingredient stands out: Retinol. And it’s no surprise why.  Aestheticians and dermatologists agree that this miracle ingredient (and its derivatives) had the power to make skin look younger, smoother and simply better.  Retinods are often used to fight acne and diminish the signs of sun damage since they speed up skin cell turnover.  It works by getting rid of dead cells and turning over the cells more rapidly.

With all the skin-boosting benefits of retinol, how do you know which type is best for you?  Below are 3 examples:

1. OVER-THE COUNTER-The lowest level of Retinol
Over-the-counter products that contain retinol can be found at drugstores, beauty boutiques and online, and usually offer retinol in low strengths.
2.  Medical-Grade
NON-PRESCRIPTION STRENGTH RETIONAL
Stronger the over-the-counter versions but not as intense as prescription-strength products, medical -grade retinols are commonly found at doctors’ offices and can be obtained with out a prescription.  Medical-grade formulas slowly convert retinol into retinoic acid, which is the active ingredient found in prescription versions. We carry PCA Retinol Renewal 1%.
3.PRESCRIPTION - STRENGTH
Strongest formulas available
Medically known as TRETINOIN, prescription-strength retinoids work quicker  because they’re formulated as retinoic acid, so the body doesn’t need to convert it.  RETIN-A has been the standard for aging skin, but its strong, and a lot of people can’t tolerate it. There are several other options our there such as: REFISSA - An emollient-rich formula, fragrance-free.  Ideal for those with normal to dry skin and mature skin.
DID YOU KNOW?
Over-the-counter products don’t meet the same criteria as prescription strength ones.  If they did they would be classified as DRUGS. A drug changes the structure or function of the skin, which over the counter drugs don’t do! Medical grade products available through a Doctor’s office can be considered drugs as well because if its ability to transform the skin.
